I Don’t Know My Heart By Heart

The writing experience is very much like walking a cat. Or at least the specific experience my wife and I have when we periodically take our inherited elderly black cat for a walk on a leash. Sometimes the process comes along quickly, as the article and I rush ahead, full of curiosity and interest, sussing out possibilities and following scents. But other times it just flops down on a warm spot on the pavement. Sure, I’m still talking about the cat, but again the analogy to writing is spot on.
